Georeferencing maps using QGIS



Many times we want to work with maps within a GIS that do not have any spatial reference associated with it but do contain a grid that we can leverage to add the missing georeferenced information, the process is similar to using control points for images based on pattern matching or looking similar locations on a referenced map to "correct" the one we want to use however in this video I concentrate on maps that contain some sort of grid or tick marks
