If you clicked on a link in December 2023 and it led you to a website that displayed a Windows Defender Security Warning that said to "activate license" about Windows Defender Security Center and something about "Security Center Code 0x5611z8 Service," it's a scam. The scam is that a website pretends to be Windows Defender opening up on your computer and might go from animalallbets.shop to karterstevens.autos. It's ok to close the window, even if it asks if you're sure. Both are scam websites. The warning will say: "Windows Defender - Security Warning. Access to this computer is blocked for security reasons. Your computer has been reported to be infected with Trojan spyware. The following data is at risk: Email credentials, banking passwords, Facebook login and photos and documents." The directive will be to call a phone number that claims to be Microsoft or Windows Support, but in reality leads straight to scammers.

The warning will also say the following: "Windows Defender Security Center. App: Ads.fiancetrack(2).dll. Threat Detected: Trojan Spyware. Access to this computer is blocked for security reasons. Please contact Microsoft Support: 8888856726. Access to this computer is blocked for security reasons. Windows Defender Scan has detected unwanted adware on this device that could steal passwords, online IDs, financial information, personal files, photos, or documents. You need to contact us immediately so that our technicians can guide you through the removal process over the phone. Contact Windows Support immediately to report this threat, prevent personal information theft, and unlock access to this device. Closing this window will expose your personal information and stop the Windows Registry. Windows Defender SmartScreen has prevented the display of an unrecognized app. Running this app may put your PC at risk. Windows Defender Scan has detected unwanted adware on this device that could steal passwords, online IDs, financial information, personal files, photos, or documents."

Stay far away from these kinds of scams. The scammers' aim is to connect to your computer so that they can scam you in some manner. Avoid this. If you did fall for this scam, my recommendation is to call a trusted security software company for further advice, such as Norton, McAfee or another big-name entity. Make sure you are finding their official phone numbers on their official websites and that you are not, in fact, calling scammers.

Tap the like button down below and to the right of the like button is a "thanks" button. If you don't see the "thanks" button, tap the three dots off to the right of the like, dislike and share buttons. The "thanks" button is in there. If you are financially well off and want to show thanks to me, please feel free to tap "thanks." Thank you for watching and comment with the word "waffle" if you want me to reply with a waffle emoji.
