The Dana or HM Prison Shrewsbury was a Category B/C men's prison in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England and It was decommissioned in March 2013. There has been a prison on this exact site since 1793 but the current building you can see in the video was constructed in 1877. In the video you will find us exploring the whole prison, various prison wings and even rooms such as the hanging room!! Yes thats right, seven people were hung here between 1902 to 1961 which if you think about it really isn't that long ago. The prison has seen some famous inmates such as Ricky Tomlinson and in recent days the prison is often featured on various TV shows and also paranormal programs. New to the channel?
