Shrimp and Sausage Jambalaya

Something new, spicy, and flavorful recipe you can make at home - this is our version of Sausage & Shrimp Jambalaya.

Jambalaya is a dish of Creole origin, consisting of rice cooked with ham, sausage, chicken, or shellfish, herbs, spices, and vegetables, especially tomatoes, onions, and peppers.

in our version, I used the Polish Kielbasa sausage from our product sponsor - Super Sausages - as this is mildly spicy. To heat it up more, I added Cajun seasoning and Spanish Paprika which also adds flavor to it. This is cooked with Basmati rice which is a type of long-grain rice and is traditionally served in Indian and South Asian cuisines. Combining all of these gives you that flavorful dish with a tinge of spiciness.

I highly recommend you try this recipe as it is so delicious!

Ingredients:
* 3 pcs Kielbasa sausage
* 2 cups Basmati rice, washed & soaked ( or any type of long-grain rice)
* 2 Tbsp chicken oil
* 1/4 kg shrimp, shelled
* 1 tsp Spanish paprika
* 1 tsp ground black pepper
* 1 tsp garlic powder
* 1 Tbsp Cajun seasoning
* 1 tsp salt
* 2 pcs bay leaves
* 1 cup tomato sauce
* 6 garlic cloves, minced
* 1 medium white onion, diced
* 2 pcs each of green & red bell peppers, diced
* 2 green chilies, diced
* 4 cups pork broth

Procedure:
1. Heat chicken oil in a pot. Add the sliced Kielbasa sausages. Cook until brown.
2. Add garlic and white onions. Mix.
3. Pour the tomato sauce. Stir. Cover and simmer.
4. Add the rest of the ingredients - bell peppers, green chilis, paprika, ground black pepper, garlic powder, Cajun seasoning,  salt, and bay leaves. Mix well.
5. Combine the Basmati rice. Mix all together.
6. Pour the pork broth. Stir well. Cover and let it boil.
7. Stir from time to time to avoid sticking and burning.
8. When the rice is cooked, place the shrimps on top and wait till it changes color.
9. Gently mix then turn off the heat.
10. Serve while it's hot. Enjoy!
