In this video, we’re going to talk about intermittent fasting and adrenal fatigue. Is intermittent fasting good for the adrenals?

When you’re doing intermittent fasting, your blood sugar drops between meals. If you have a pre-existing low blood sugar condition, your adrenals will have to work a little harder to stabilize your blood sugar.

When your blood sugars drop, the adrenals increase the hormone cortisol. Cortisol is also known as glucocorticoid because it’s a glucose hormone. It releases glucose to help normalize your blood sugar.

If you have hypoglycemia and you start intermittent fasting, you might notice symptoms of low blood sugar as you transition into fat-burning. This is easy to solve. Add more fat, more vegetables, and eat a moderate amount of protein.

Intermittent fasting isn’t bad for your adrenals, they’re just doing their job. Responding to hypoglycemia is a normal function of cortisol.

If you have an adrenal body type, or adrenal fatigue, try intermittent fasting. It will remove a tremendous amount of oxidative stress from your body. Intermittent fasting helps decrease inflammation, which decreases your body’s need to release cortisol.

If you have adrenal fatigue, intermittent fasting can help improve the condition.
