As any fan of "Everwood" or viewer of The WB is likely aware, the "Everwood" series was the last successful show to end its run on The WB prior to the merger with UPN to form The CW.  The show's cancellation was a very last minute decision and caused quite a stir in 2006, a result of the new network deciding to renew "7th Heaven" for an 11th Season after it received significant ratings for its "series finale".  A group of fans contributed to a fund to rent a Ferris Wheel and place it outside of The CW headquarters, an endeavor that actually materialized but ultimately was unsuccessful in getting the network to renew.  After all was said and done, the network lived to regret its decision--"7th Heaven"'s ratings were very poor compared to its previously advertised "final season" and even lower than "Everwood"'s final season, and the show disappeared after one single season on The CW.  "Everwood" may have had enough juice to go another three or four years, but didn't get the chance.  Its also important to note this is the show that launched the careers of Chris Pratt and Emily Vancamp, and was also the maiden creation of Greg Berlanti, a now a prolific mega producer with 14 shows on the air at the same time!
