From CLE to UKRAINE | MedWish International

One year ago, Ukrainians woke up to a Russian invasion. War had begun. Millions of Ukrainians were displaced from their homes, seeking safety.

Some 5000 miles away in Cleveland, MedWish International sprung into action. “We had people calling and emailing around the clock. They just wanted to know how they could get involved,” said Director of Development Allison Busser.

When MedWish, along with Medworks, organized a supply drive in March 2022, streams of people drove in to donate, handing toiletries over to volunteers braving frigid temperatures. The generosity never stopped. Neither did the thank yours.

This is not simply disaster relief. MedWish was at work in Ukraine before and will be after the fighting ends. Since February 2022, MedWish has partnered with 14 organizations coordinating 81 shipments in Ukraine. The latest shipment was sent just this month. MedWish has also distributed more than 4600 pounds of aid locally, to Ukrainians who have relocated to Cleveland. Learn more about our efforts to support those in need here.
