Learn how to create a textured bowl cut for an oval face shape from this SEB MAN step by step guide. Aiden Xydis, SEB MAN’s Global ARTIST will show you the technique and the products necessary to create this look.
STEP 1:
Create a horseshoe section from the recessions down to the crown. Starting at the center back, take a vertical section from the crown and blunt cut. Move like this around the head to reduce the weight at the hat line.
STEP 2:
Use the clipper over comb technique on the sides and back from below the occipital bone to the nape area. Holding the comb off the head, cut from shorter to longer. Use the 0.5 guide and taper around the perimeter. Freehand clipper the hairline and use the scissor over comb technique to blend.
STEP 3:
Move to the top. Starting at the crown, take horizontal sections and blunt cut. Move toward the front area keeping a longer length using the point cutting technique to add texture. This will eliminate the roundness of the head.
STEP 4:
Comb the fringe directly down and blunt cut, creating roundness through the corners. Connect the top and the sides working with diagonal sections and blunt cut for a stronger feel. This will naturally create disconnection at the fringe area. Blow-dry the hair forward and finish the look with The Sculptor to give a strong, dry matte feel.
