The world’s smallest migrating colorful bird,  named hummingbird.
Native to America with about 361 species and 113 genera, they occur from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego. But the vast majority of the species are found in the tropics around the equator.

They are known as Hummingbirds because of the humming sound created by their beating wings, which flap at high frequencies audible to humans.
Nature:
Most species of hummingbirds measure 7.5–13 cm (3 to 5 inches) in length.
The smallest extant hummingbird species is the 5 cm (2.0 inches) bee hummingbird, which weighs less than 2.0 gm.
The largest hummingbird species is the 23 cm (9.1 inches) giant hummingbird, weighing 18 to 24 gm.
Habit:
The hummingbird is the only bird species that can fly backward,
they hover in mid-air at rapid wing-flapping rates.
The largest species of hummingbirds flap their wings approximately 12 to 15 times in a second, but smalls are 80 or more times per second.

They are very fast a adult female hummingbird can fly 15 meters per second, which equals approx 54 km or 34 mph. But males are faster than females, some species of male can fly from 30 meters per second which equal approx 83 km or 51 mph.
Food:
Specially hummingbird feed on flower nectar, but all species also consume flying insects, spiders, and insect eggs.
Nesting:
Hummingbirds build nests three to seven feet above the ground during late winter and spring. Most probably the nesting period is about 21 days.

Hummingbirds build velvety, compact cups with spongy floors and elastic sides that stretch as the young grow. They weave together twigs, plant fibers, and bits of leaves, and use spider silk as threads to bind their nests together and anchor them to the foundation.
The female hummingbird makes the nest. The only female sits on the eggs and incubates them. Only the mother hummingbird feeds the chicks.
Most females lay two eggs, which they incubate for 15 to 18 days.
Juvenile hummingbirds leave their nest 18 to 28 days after hatching.
