"I am truly the imperishable supreme Brahman, named Vasudev.  Only a person with this type of firm conviction, becomes liberated. In the absence of such conviction, he is nothing but a bound soul. The root vas, stands for the verb to cover. "Vasu" means He, who has covered every object, by His own reality and effulgence. "Deva" means He, who is of the essential nature of, divine effulgence. He is in fact "Vasudeva," the pure Brahman.
The supreme State that remains, at the end of all types of negations, through the discernment of, "this is not Brahman", "this is not Brahman, and which cannot be negated any further, is that "I", Know this and be happy! Astāvakra Gītā, 16.1 says:
O dear! You may listen to different scriptures in varied ways or go on explaining them; yet you will not be able to, attain your Self-abiding-state, unless through the practice of Knowledge, you can expunge the idea from your mind, that dualities are true.
Realize the Self as One non-dual Brahman, always free from all types of distinctions. Why are you dividing the undivided Brahman, by thinking that, I am the meditator and, the supreme Brahman is the object of my mediation, i.e. why are you limiting Brahman?
I alone am that supreme Self, which is Brahman and Consciousness only, this type of reflection is called, contemplation, dhyāna. When this type of reflection becomes uninterrupted, then it is in fact, called the highest, samyak samādhi.
The very harmonious note of the mental modifications, when pointed toward one goal, is renowned as meditation. When the meditation becomes deep, one attains the state of savikalpa samādhi. In this state, there remain three components, (tripuți) the meditator, the act of meditation, and the object of meditation. When that state becomes deeper, there remains not even a concept of, the three components. The object of meditation remains alone, as the residue. That is truly called, nirvikalpa samadhi.
