Ep. 17 Max finishes his angler, Piecing It Together exhibit Part II, operation tooth extraction & a sad day for glass artists in Atlanta.
My son kicks off by grouting his angler with black sanded grout. This is only the third mosaic he's ever made! Then I bring you along on a tour of the Atlanta Mosaic Art Guild's annual exhibit, Part II. The standing pumpkin is packed for shipping to its new owner and then the mosaic portrait receives my undivided attention. I knock out the hair and paint the background. I demo how to remove glass from the middle of a mosaic to replace it. Fortunately, Weldbond is water soluble and a spritz of water does the trick. A new tooth is cut and fitted with a bit of trial and error as I mumble through it.
Our local glass supply store, Armstrong Glass, is moving to another state and I'm so sad to see them go! I made one last purchase and show some gorgeous glass!
Then back after the portrait! This time, the background is finished and I'm working on the simplified shirt.
BONUS: I finished grouting one of the suncatchers so you can see it spinning!
