We start out mild and muggy in the 70’s. This afternoon, highs will reach the low-to-mid 90’s, but with really high humidity, heat index values will be up to 110 degrees. There is a HEAT ADVISORY in place from 10 AM until 7 PM. We will see a scattered showers and storms this afternoon. Typical summertime continues through the rest of the week into the weekend with highs in the low-to-mid 90’s and scattered afternoon showers and storms each afternoon. Surf will increase heading into the weekend. In the tropics, we are tracking Beryl and another area in the Atlantic. Beryl continues to break records and is barreling across the Caribbean. It will approach the Yucatan Peninsula by the end of the week and enter the southern Gulf this weekend. It will move toward Texas/Mexico late this weekend into early next week. The other area we are watching is following in Beryl’s wake. It now will likely not develop into anything tropical, but we will watch it closely! No immediate threats to our area.
