I have to say at the top of this Rangoon movie review that I love the way this film open with a near operatic beginning with the complete cast of a film shooting a song that like other songs from Vishal Bhardwaj films is near operatic in how its set and filmed and this maks for a grand entry by two the main characters of the film Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan. Can Bhardwaj enrich the canvas on which he paints further we wil find out at Rangoon unspools.
The Story
It is a love triangle set in the Second World War India very close to the country gaining Independence The three corners of the triange are Saif Ali Khan who plays a Parsi filmmaker Russi Billimoria, his protégé hunterwali type actress and entertainer Miss Julia played by Kangana Ranaut and her protector British Indian soldier Nawab Malik played by Shahid Kapoor. Russi in the film takes it upon himself to send Julia to entertain the forces at war on the Burma border. This is a love torn story set to a War torn back ground . Rangoon There is love lust and rivalry and intrigue all rolled in this Vishal Bhardwaj Film
