This is the very start of my search for my Indonesian family. We're traveling to Solo in Java. This is the birthplace of my mom where she was adopted. She never met her biological parents and never tried to search for them. The parents who adopted her were her real parents she felt. I'm curious about who my Indonesian family is. We have my mom's adoption papers and we're maybe able to trace down my Indonesian roots. They don’t know I exist and I don’t know if they are waiting for me to show up at their doorsteps. It's the scariest thing I've ever done though I'm excited to see what Indonesia is like and learn about the culture regardless.
