Lifting Platform DIY Build in 2 Minutes

OK, it took longer than 2 Minutes to build this DIY Lifting Platform, but this time-lapse build is quick at just over 2 minutes long, covering the design and build of the platform.  

After working out with dumbells for 9 months, I wanted to progress to barbell workouts, and needed more room.  I built this in my garage after insulating the walls and ceiling because it's like -10C/14F here.

The design is based on the platform from https://www.artofmanliness.com/articl... with a few modifications.  The platform is 8'x12' in total.

The chosen location in my garage is height challenged so I had to raise the door tracks about 2 inches and adjust the opening height of the garage door and limit the platform height, and thus the number of layers.

3 Layers:
1. DMX 1-Step 2.0 Underlayment (insulation, waterproofing): 1 roll
2. 5/8" 4'x8' OSB Sheets (or Particle Board): 3 sheets
3a. 3/4" 4'x6' Horse Stall Mats (save 50% by NOT calling them Gym Mats, but they are the same): 4 mats
3b. 3/4" 4'x8' Maple Plywood Sheet: 1 sheet.

The Maple plywood was given 3 coats of water based polyurethane with NO sanding between coats (don't want it to be super slippery).

Last thing to go on will be the vinyl sticker, once it arrives.  I will be putting cuttout out the shape of a Canadian Maple Leaf into the design of the Welsh Dragon sticker, and I hope to show the final...final...product mid January.

I had to move my power rack around the garage to build the platform. If, unlike me, you have friends, ask them for help.  I put a bar across the safeties and did some weird kind of farmers walk to move it around and this think is frikin' heavy!
