Hi! Everyone! Today we're going to show you how to make a classic American dessert:
Key Lime Pie.

Key lime pie is an American dessert pie made of lime, egg yolks, and sweetened condensed milk. It originated in Key West, Florida in the late 1800s. It’s so easy to make, just need a few ingredients that are as easy to find in the kitchen as lemons or sugar.

In this recipe, we use ordinary lemon to make it, because unless you live in the Florida Keys, key limes are impossible to find. But even if you use ordinary lime or lemon to make this pie, it’s more delicious than expected. BTW, it’s a perfect way to welcome spring and summer. Hope you like this video. :)

Key Lime Pie Recipes

📍 Pan Size: Top Dia 16cm, Bottom Dia 14cm, Height  2.5cm
📍 Yields: 5-6

✎ Ingredients
☞ For the Crust:
graham crackers, 134g about 9 crackers
melted unsalted butter, 54g
granulated sugar 8g

☞ For the Filling:
lemon or lime zest 1.2g, about 1 tablespoon
yolk 30g
sweetened condensed milk 178g
lemon or lime juice 55g

☞ For the Whipped cream:
whipping cream 100ml
powdered sugar 10g

✎ Instructions
1. Ground the graham cracker, mix with sugar and melted butter. Put the graham cracker mixture with your fingers and press into the base and up the sides.
2. Preheat the oven to 175°C, bake for 10 minutes, Remove and cool.
3. Put the egg yolk into a bowl, Using an electric mixer over medium speed to beat until thicken and pale in color, about 2~4 minutes.
4. Add lemon zest and sweetened condensed milk  over medium speed  and mix until well combined.
5. Add lemon juice, whisk over low speed to mix until smooth.
4. Pour filling into the graham cracker crust , preheat the oven to 175°C, and bake for 10~11 minutes or the filling is just set.
5. When done, remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for an hour to overnight.
6.Beat the powdered sugar and whipping cream together, whip until firm enough.
7. Dollop or pipe the cream onto the top of the pie and finish with extra lime zest. Chill until ready to serve.
