These Rice Krispie treats look like sliced watermelon slices and have a nice tangy fruit flavour.

Start off with a 9" round cake pan or springform pan.  The one I used was about 3" high.  Lightly grease the pan.

18 oz marshmallows (regular or mini, mini melts faster)
7.5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
7.5 tablespoons butter
1 packet lemon-lime kool aid
1 packet cherry koolaid
1/4 cup chocolate chips or raisins (approx.)
Food colour (optional)

1.  Place 5 oz of marshmallows in a medium sized bowl and add 1/8 cup (2tbsp) of butter.  Microwave on high for about a minute until the marshmallows are puffy and melted and the butter is melted.
Stir butter and marshmallows together and add in one packet of lemon-lime kool aid (or less, I use 1/2 of a packet). Darken colour to desired shade by adding green food colour if desired.
Stir in 2 cups of Rice Krispies and then press the mixture around the edge of the pan.  If you are using a 3" tall pan, press up to about 3/4 of the way up. Grease your fingers lightly with butter if they stick too much.

2.Place 3 oz of marshmallows in a medium sized bowl and add 1.5 tbsp butter.  Microwave on high for about 30 seconds or until butter is melted and marshmallows are puffy and melted.
Stir until smooth and then stir in 1 1/2 cups of Rice Krispies until combined.  Using a buttered spatula, press the mixture in the pan so that it forms a ring inside the green circle. Press firmly so that the layers stick together well and that there are no large air pockets.
If you find the white portion too thick, trim with sharp knife, if it isn't thick enough, make up a second batch and add on enough to make it thick enough.

3. Place 10 oz of marshmallows in a large bowl and add 1/4 cup (4 tbsp) of butter. Microwave on high for about 2 minutes until butter is melted and marshmallows are puffy.  Stir together until smooth and then add in 1 packet of cherry Kool Aid. Stir until dissolved and then stir in 4 cups of Rice Krispies. Once cereal is well coated, spoon into the center of the baking dish, in 2-3 additions, pressing well to flatten and to remove air pockets, use a buttered spatula or buttered fingers.

While mixture is still warm, press in a few chocolate chips or raisins into the top of the pink portion.  The chocolate chips may melt once in contact with the warm cereal mixture.  Place in the refrigerator for a few minutes until chips are solid again and then slice into pieces.
Store in a covered container at room temperature.

**note- you don't have to add the kool aid and can just use food colouring instead if you don't want the fruit flavours.
