The most effective way to light a burn pile using DIESEL.
I repeat, DIESEL, NOT petrol as petrol will explode into flames where as diesel is much more docile in nature.
Soak a rag with diesel, light it on fire and place it on the burn pile.
Get a drum of diesel and begin to flick diesel at the flames from a distance.
diesel burns better as a vapour so flicking the diesel at the flame makes it flare up.
