Cataracts can be classified based on th etiological and morphological classification. The etiological classification classifies cataracts into congenital, developmental cataracts and acquired cataracts. The most common acquired  cataracts is senile cataract . Senile cataract is an age-related, vision-impairing disease characterized by gradual progressive clouding and thickening of the lens of the eye.
