Lucerne Valley is an OHV area here in Southern California that many off-roaders visit for its steep red rocky mountains, rolling hills, open valley, dry lake beds, and sandy washes.  

Lucerne Valley is a census-designated place in western San Bernardino County, California, in the Mojave Desert. It is located east of the Victor Valley, which is home to Victorville, Apple Valley, and Hesperia. At the time of the 2010 census, the population was 5,811.

In the Mojave Desert's southern extremities, Lucerne Valley is 19 miles east of Apple Valley and 20 miles downward north of Big Bear. It is surrounded by multiple mountain ranges, including the Granite, Ord, and San Bernardino mountain ranges.

The junction of State Route 247 (Old Woman Springs Road / Barstow Road) and State Route 18 are the core of Lucerne Valley. Route 247/Old Woman Springs Road leads 45 miles east to Yucca Valley. Lucerne Valley is also known as County Service Area 29 in San Bernardino County.
