On March 1st, PBCFR: Engine & Rescue 14, PBSO, AND Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission responded to reports of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Indiantown Road and Mellon Lane. 2 off duty firefighters and 1 former firefighter arrived before crews could get on scene. Shortly after crews arrived on scene they found two cars involved in the accident, one of which still contained occupants that were entrapped. PBCFR Battalion Chief 19, EMS 19, Rescues 16,18,19 Special Operations 19, Squad 19, Tender 14, and Trauma Hawk 1 were quickly dispatched. While additional units were on the way, Engine and Rescue 14 quickly worked on extracting the occupants of the truck. Both Rescue 14 and 19 transported their patient to station 14 where Trauma Hawk 1 transported both patients to a trauma center.
Sadly, one of the patients has passed away, the other patient's status is currently unknown. Please keep the patients as well as their family and friends in your prayers.Thank you to the 2 off duty firefighters, and the 1 former firefighter for going out of your way to help.
