Watch along as we test the speed differences between the Gen3 Starlink “kickstand” dish and the Gen2 “motorized” dish. Both positioned flat for in motion use.
After numerous speed tests and running the gen3 dish on both AC and DC power we were unable to determine a clear winner in the speed department. Both dishes ranged anywhere from 40mbps to 250mbps. Seems to be a common issue with Starlink however during regular use you’d probably never know the difference.
The RoamSat seems to check all the boxes with comparable speed test results to the Gen3, a smaller overall package using the Gen2 dish and the portability factor using a integrated battery system for up to 10hrs runtime on a single charge!
