Carnival Trainmaster: It's Complicated, As Strates Shows Veteran Demonstrates

Take a vintage video walk along the Strates Shows carnival train with trainmaster Raul Hoffman, as he provides intimate details and demonstrations on loading, unloading and maintaining 48 flat cars and eight coaches on America's last train of its kind. In this 2008 video, Hoffman spends an hour walking up and down the Strates train, providing a masters class at trackside during a 30-day still date at Danbury Fair Mall in Connecticut Raul also briefly shares his background as a first-generation Italian-American who performed on the Big One (Ringling Bros.) before joining the Strates Shows in 1959 and working for the carnival's legendary founder, James E. Strates, then later for the current C.E.O., E. James Strates.
