Dahi means yogurt and bade
Dahi means yogurt and bade (vade) means fried black lentil batter balls. It is a dish that is very popular in Indian subcontinent. It’s a type of chaat and is prepared by soaked urad dal for 5-6 hours, grinding it with very little water, deep frying, and then soaking in Dahi (yogurt). Tamarind sweet chutney on top enhance the taste.
Ingredients:
Urad (mash) ki dal (black lentil) de-husked - 1 cup
Dahi (yogurt) - 2 cups for 10 bade
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Green chili - 2-3
Ginger - 1 inch
Salt - 3/4 tsp
Roasted red chili and cumin powder mix - 1 tsp
Black salt - 1/4 tsp
Sugar - 1tsp
Garnish: Kashmiri red chili powder, red chili and cumin powder mix (roasted)
