As you can see, these are my 1971 Slingerland Buddy Rich 80N drum set. All drums have the 3 ply maple, poplar, maple shell with the rock maple rings on them. I`m play on a 14x24 inch bass drum,9x13 tom, two 16x16 floor toms, and the rare 4x14 inch Buddy Rich model snare drum with the straight edge chrome over brass hoop. Of course in the famous Marine Pearl finish. This is one of my Ken Loomer Big Band concerts performed at the Glenridge Performance Arts Center in Sarasota, Florida. During this drum solo, I`m using no mic`s on the drums so you can hear the full wide open tuning that projects so well from these Slingerland drums. No dead sounding bass drum with the porthole cut on the front head and pillows inside it. With this wide open tuning, I can get so many sounds out of this 4x14 snare drum. The toms sound so clear and full with this tuning and those great Slingerland drum shells. Like I said, no mic`s and mixing the drum sound on a board. Just pure drum sound so you can hear what I think is one of the best sounding drum kit of all time.
