This is why Egypt is building its new administrative capital in the middle of the desert, 28 miles east of Cairo (A 58 billion dollar construction site ....). Victim of a regular and massive arrival of 2 million newcomers every year, Cairo is on the verge of suffocation and the latest projections show that it could even double its population to 40 million inhabitants by 2040. To meet this meteoric growth, the Egyptian government undertook in 2015, the construction of a new capital on the outskirts and this site is considered to date as the largest in Africa, with a new skyscraper of 385 meters in the center of the future business district, the Iconic Tower, a new record of the highest skyscraper of the entire African continent ...
