The Rickenbacker 4003 4 string electric bass guitar has become an iconic instrument over the last 30 years as many celebrity bassists have made it the weapon of their choice ... It was a trend which was started by perhaps the most famous bassist of all - Paul McCartney who started to use the Rickenbacker 4001 as far back as the Sgt Pepper recording sessions in 1967 and then used it for much of his recording and live work in Wings during the 1970's ...
Although the 4001 was over time updated to become the 4003 model shown here, it has lost none of its celebrity status as other bassists made it their own from Lemmy with Motorhead to Bruce Foxton in The Jam. It still remains true to the original raw materials with a Maple body & neck and Rosewood fret board that has the identifiable triangular inlaid fret markers. Dual single coil Rickenbacker pick-ups produce the now legendary deep bass complimented by high end twang and scooped mid-range.
There's not much to add about this bass - other than most bassists prefer to use it in rock or pop musical contexts although I did see funkmeister Rick James use it extensively on his solo albums. If you want to see and hear a true rock legend in action, come on down to the Nevada Music Warehouse and try this awesome Rickenbacker 4003 bass which incidentally has both mono and Stereo jack outputs ...
