The development and influence of Ramayana in different countries of Southeast Asia is very important. Many Asian countries have created Ramayana literature, dance style based on Ramayana. Various puppet shows continue to be displayed, and over the ages, architects have sculpted extraordinary Ramayana sculptures in stone. From wood carving to the ancient tempera method of painting continues to this day. Among them, Thailand's 'Ramakien', Indonesia's 'Kakawin', Malaysia's 'Hikayetsherirama', Philippines' Maharadiya Lawana, Burma's 'Ramatayagin', or 'Ramavattu', Cambodia's 'Ramakriti', are particularly noteworthy.

About The Speaker:
Mrs. Anita Basu is an author, artist, social worker, expert in Indian knowledge systems and the first Indian woman guide of Bangkok National Museum. She did her M.A in Bengali Literature from Burdwan University. She studied Indian art, Indology, Ramakrishna and the Vivekananda movement, is a guest Lecturer at Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture. She has done extensive studies on Indian culture, art, heritage and its impact in Southeast Asia. She has written books like Ramayana Footprints in Southeast Asian Culture and Heritage, Bangabhumite Ramayan Charchar Oitijhyo etc.
