Dr. Irfan Ahmed, a consultant physiotherapist will introduce you that what is frozen shoulder, its causes, stages of frozen shoulder, safe exercises for freezing stage, and best exercises & stretches for the frozen stage of Adhesive Capsulitis. Frozen shoulder is a medical condition in which the shoulder capsule becomes stiff and tight. Due to this reason, our shoulder becomes painful and the shoulder range of movement gets limited. Due to pain and restricted shoulder range of motion our quality of life deteriorates. In a frozen shoulder, sleep is disturbed due to pain and it becomes difficult for frozen shoulder patients to take the hand behind the head and back due to stiffness. The causes of the frozen shoulder are not clear. But risk factors are diabetes, immobilization due to some shoulder surgery, mastectomy, hand surgery, and shoulder injury, and some other medical conditions like Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism, cardiac issues, and Parkinson's disease. 3 Stages of frozen shoulder are freezing, frozen & thawing. In the freezing stage, the main complaint is pain, while in the frozen stage the main complaint is stiffness.
