My First Fundie Heartbreak & Why I Relate to Lydia from Welcome to Plathville

This video is about my first heartbreak growing up in christian fundamentalism and (one of the reasons) why I relate to Lydia Plath from the TV show Welcome to Plathville. I discuss the psychological enmeshment that I recognize between Lydia and her mom Kim and how it mirrors the enmeshment I experienced with my own mom as a teenager. I also share how purity culture contributed to my feelings of shame, my lack of romantic experience, and my unnecessary heartbreak.
