There are Different specialties of Physical Therapy:

1. Cardiovascular & Pulmonary.
The specialty focuses on helping individuals improve their breathing and aerobic capacity by teaching them more effective breathing techniques and exercising them under fully-monitored conditions.

2. Clinical Electrophysiology.
The clinical electrophysiologic specialty involves those areas of physical therapy practice that use electricity to monitor, measure, or produce physiologic responses in the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of human dysfunction.

3. Oncology.
This specialty is involved in managing the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, integumentary and cardiopulmonary rehabilitative needs of patients living with and beyond cancer and other chronic illnesses including HIV.

4. Women's Health.
     Women's health refers to the branch of physical therapy that focuses on the treatment and
     diagnosis of diseases and conditions that affect a woman's physical and emotional well-being.

5. Wound Management.
     This specialty area within the physical therapy profession involves
     understanding, assessing, and maintaining the integrity of the body’s outer layer across the
     lifespan and in preventing and managing multiple types of wounds and outer layer
     conditions for optimal outcomes

6. Geriatrics.
A specialty of physical therapy that deals with the problems and diseases of old age, and physical therapy care and treatment of aging people.

7. Neurology.
      Neurology is the branch of medicine concerned with the study and treatment of disorders of the nervous system.

8.  Orthopedics.
a specialty of Physical therapy concerned with the correction or prevention of deformities, disorders, or injuries of the skeleton and associated structures.

9. Pediatrics.
Pediatrics is the specialty in physical therapy that includes treatment of traumatic, developmental, and systemic disorders that relate specifically to children.

10. Sports.
The sports physical therapy specialty area within the physical therapy profession helps with prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and education of individuals. This specialty is also involved in the physiological, psychological, pathological, and performance problems of athletes and attempts to prevent or correct these problems.

11. Another subspeciality is Vestibular rehabilitation
Among the different kinds of physical therapy, there is a subspecialty for treating vestibular disorders. This means that the vestibular system - which controls eye movement and balance - and that can be affected by some type of disorder that prevents the patient from processing this type of sensory information.

This system is made up of parts of the inner ear and the brain.
