Want to add an apron to your historical (or modern) wardrobe? Welcome to part 1 of our 3 part Apron Sew Along! 18th century aprons ranged from plain and practical to fancy and fashionable. Anyone who has worn an apron knows how indispensable they can be. For the 18th century person they were an essential part of the wardrobe. These everyday aprons were often made of white, natural or checked linen while fashionable aprons were made of fine cottons, silks, lawns & cambrics (fine linen) and could have the addition of ruffles, embroidery, and trims. Some examples are made of printed textiles as well as solid colors. #showyourapron and tag us on social media to share yours!
