Welcome to part 1 of 3 in our 18th century cap sew along!

Caps like the one in this sew along were an everyday accessory worn for the feminine wardrobe at all social levels in the 18th century. They were also frequently worn by children. Caps could be simple to extravagant and while they were fashionable, they were also a practical accessory for hygiene as they covered the head and protected the hair from external dirt and dust.

In this sew along we use the B&T cap pattern which has two different styles (get yours and see the supply list here: https://burnleyandtrowbridge.com/coll...) but the steps in this tutorial could be applied to any 18th century cap you're working on!

We'll cover:
2:44 Cut out Pattern
7:25 Ruffles

Check out our Instagram Highlights  Instagram: burnleyandtrowbridge for a Slide show of caps similar to the ones we will be making in this video!
