50. Morgan Solar - A Canadian solar startup with a bright future

We don't often cover pre-commercial startups on Green Energy Futures but the Morgan Solar story is one we just had to share. Based in Toronto, it's developing a concentrated solar PV module that, by next year, should be twice as cheap as typical silicon PV module and twice as efficient. They do it by using common plastics to focus light onto a tiny, super-efficient solar cell, like the ones used to power satellites.
