Data Structures Tutorial: The array based stack data structure theory

Stacks are a last in, first out data structure. This means the last value placed into the stack is always the first one that is removed, or that comes out. Such data structures are useful when you need to process the last thing that is added. For example, think about trump-based card games or collectible card games like magic the gathering. A common, real-world example is a stack of dishes, where a new dish is always placed on the top, and an existing dish is always removed from the top of the stack.
