현재 그리스 민족이 이 지역을 정복함으로써 여러 문화가 융합하여 복잡한 신화가 생겨납니다.
이렇게 구전되어 오던 신화를 호메로스나 헤시오도스 같은 문학가나 역사가들이 문학작품으로 발전시켜 오늘날에 그리스 신화가 탄생했습니다.
그렇다면 왜 그리스로마신화 일까요~?
로마인들이 그리스를 정복했을때 그리스가 이룬 문명에 로마인들은
그리스 신화를 그대로 자신들의 고유 신화로 받아들입니다.
그리고 차츰 그리스 신들의 이름은 당시 로마에서 사용하고 있던 라틴어로 바뀌어 로마 전역으로 전해집니다.
