Calgary Cancer Centre to be named after Arthur Child following $50M donation

On June 28, 2023, The Calgary Cancer Centre received the largest donation in Alberta Health Services’ history -- $50M – thanks to the Arthur J.E. Child Foundation.

With this donation, the Calgary Cancer Centre is now officially named the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre (or, the Arthur Child, for short). The contribution will accelerate research innovations and provide world-leading cancer care and treatment that will immediately benefit Calgarians, Albertans and Canadians when the Centre opens in 2024.

The $50 million donation will be allocated to the following areas:

• Precision Oncology & Clinical Excellence - $10 million
• Attracting and retaining the best and brightest cancer care and research professionals - $25 million
