Caldor Fire jumps Highway 50 as crews continue to battle blaze in El Dorado County

The Caldor Fire has jumped Highway 50 near Kyburz in El Dorado County on Saturday as crews continue to battle the blaze.  New winds from the southwest pushed the massive fire closer towards the major roadway, threatening more homes.  A forty-mile stretch of Highway 50 between Sly Park and Myers was closed Friday.  The blaze has forced thousands of people from their homes and leveled much of the community of Grizzly Flats.  See more above.
