LOVE YOU SO MUCH! Thank you to Mama Janse for being a part of this video :-) Here are her 10 things she wanted to include -
1 allow your child to feel loved, safe, and listened to
2 prayer! I got connected with some moms my age to pray with through an international organization called Moms in Prayer. It was my lifeline and truly the best help to me in parenting! To find a group near you, visit momsinprayer.org
3 read parenting books, take classes offered, take advantage of resources offered. Some of my personal favorites:
For newborns/toddlers: Babywise
For elementary school age: Parenting with Love and Logic
For teens: Focus on the Family website resources, Parent Cue App and Teen/Preteen devotionals
4 love/show interest in what your kids like
5 make family memories. Have family jokes
6 don't promise things too far ahead so you can keep promises without being resentful
7 make time for fun after you and child complete work/responsibilities
8 shower at night 😂 then you will be more willing to play hard with your kids during the day without worrying about looking (or smelling 😂) your best
9 don’t pay for chores that are routine
10 be the person you want your child to be (I heard a wise friend say recently (who gave up an addiction when he had a child)…You chose them…they didn’t choose you.)
