The “fruits of the sea”
The “fruits of the sea” pretty much sums up this entire episode and the last few days living on a boat in Flores, Indonesia. Eating seafood does not get fresher than this - lobster, squid, and fish! The kids loved island hopping during the last two days on the liveaboard. We went to Mawam Island, Hatamin Island, and Burung Island. The kids loved snorkeling with the giant sea turtles. They opted to skip snorkeling with the sharks, though. Hatamin Island was spectacular! We saw many baby sharks in the shallow waters and even a big shark while snorkeling around this island. Hatamin Island falls under the coral sanctuary project, with several coral restoration projects are taking place to help rebuild the reefs.
