W, Sydney, Wonderful Room

With its lengthly delay due to the pandemic, this hyped hotel has become a fast favourite among the local and international clientele alike. While I only stayed in a standard room, which was very compact, I did have an enjoyable stay here due to the beautifully designed public spaces and wonderful F and B options. The lobby bar is as grand as the hotel entrance to the check in area. The rooftop bar has cool, underground, grungy vibes, while the pool is breathtaking at night, and inviting during the day; stunning guests with captivating views of darling harbour in the skyline. In terms of the room itself, as I said, it's small; yet cozy and comfortable. I could only recommend a stay in the standard rooms for a shorter stay, otherwise it's worth it to fork out extra for larger room categories. I would say that the only thing I truly disliked about the room was the bathroom. Though massive, I found the lighting and colour scheme to be off, and then there is the issue with the shower wetting the whole floor due to a lack of a barrier. I understand this is to fit in the bath tub, but still, I found this design choice to be questionable. Other than that, as a standard with the W brand, the room is very modern, playful and colourful; but most importantly the bed is simply heavenly. Great property, sub standard room for this price point and category - stay at the hotel but get the upgrade.
