How to install any aftermarket
How to install any aftermarket steering wheel to the G29. This custom wheel installation is designed to have zero to minimal modifications to the original unit. In most cases can be returned to a standard G29.

There are a total of 20 buttons/switches that can be added, plus the 2 that are used for the paddles.
The first group of 9 is reasonably easy. Next group of 8 needs careful attention as you will need to solder onto the thin printed circuit. The next 2 are integrated on a rotary dial, which I haven’t attempted to access yet, and the last one is in the middle of the rotary dial. Very small tools and a steady hand will be needed to access this last one.
Soldering directly onto the printed circuit needs care as it can be damaged.You may notice after soldering, I have place hot glue over the last group of solder points to hold the wires in place, as these are quite fragile.
On pc each new button can be mapped to control many in game features, also to control keyboard functions like ESC or volume if needed.
I still plan to add a couple of toggle switches and make a new button panel from carbon (once these parts arrive). Also to make a part that will enable the shift lights will be visible on the panel.
I have designed and made all the following parts seen in the video.
Button board - needs to hold new buttons and cover existing G29 housing
Wheel adapter - make this as thin as possible.
Paddle extenders - not necessary, but place the paddles within easy reach with the larger diameter wheel.

This mod can be done also to the Logitech G920. It is a similar process with less buttons to rewire.
