Originally produced by Scholastic Productions, 'Clifford the Big Red Dog' first graced the screens of PBS Kids on September 4, 2000, and continued to inspire young minds until February 25, 2003. For our friends across the pond, a UK version with British voice actors aired on BBC Two in April 2002.
The series was a global hit, with TV-Loonland AG handling international broadcast rights and Entertainment Rights taking charge of merchandising and home media. Notably, the late John Ritter lent his voice to Clifford in every episode, leaving an indelible mark on the show.
As we look back on this iconic series, let's remember that it played a part in the legacy of John Ritter, whose untimely passing occurred just before the debut of 'Clifford's Puppy Days.' Even though the original series concluded with 'Clifford's Really Big Movie,' its charm and life lessons live on.
But that's not the end of the story. In 2019, a reboot of 'Clifford the Big Red Dog' was introduced, breathing new life into the beloved series. Adam Sanders stepped in as the new voice of Clifford.
