(19 Oct 2016) Tattoo parlours in Thailand buzzed with demand on Wednesday, for tattoos related to the revered King Bhumibol, who died last week.
Shops that usually see only modest custom are now booked out for days and even weeks in advance as Thais seek ways to etch the late monarch's memory on their lives, indelibly.
Tattooists say the most popular designs so far are variations on the number nine, and that the age of the customers ranges from young people who come in with their parents, to people in their 50s.
As well as tattoos, there is also brisk demand for commemorative photographs, paintings, banknotes and stamps.
