This is the same recipe for self-hardening paper clay, only now it is even easier to complete. The promised new sculpting mass recipe will be published later.)
The basic recipe from the video can be modified for specific tasks.
Do it once exactly according to the recipe, try the material and change it to suit your needs. I came up with it for my work, for my modeling style. You saw some of my works at the beginning of the video.

For shallow forms, you can add more paper or increase the amount of putty while reducing the amount of flour. This will make the clay more difficult to roll into plates, but it is better to keep the shape. Impressions will be easier to remove from the mold immediately, without waiting for drying. This recipe is not suitable for deep forms. You also won't be able to make thin, flexible flower petals. This clay is, in fact, gypsum, from which you can sculpt.
IMPORTANT:
** If you have good PVA wood glue, you will need much less dry ingredients. Watch the consistency. Clay from gypsum putty becomes much harder when ripe. This does not happen with polymer putty.
** Read the characteristics of the putty on the package - the pot life of the solution should be 60 minutes or more. For some brands, expiration date may be important.
** Choose PVA glue carefully - express compositions will not work. The time for the glue to dry completely should be about 24 hours (this is indicated on the package).
** Liquid soap can be replaced with shampoo, shower gel, dishwashing liquid. The main thing is that it should not be too liquid product. Choose simple, inexpensive brands, WITHOUT balms in the composition.
** Oil can be vegetable or mineral. Sometimes the authors of the video and the craftsmen scold the vegetable oils in the composition for an unpleasant rancid smell that may appear over time in the product. This means that the master made some mistake while preparing the clay: the oil remained on the surface (or very close to the surface) and oxidized when it interacted with atmospheric oxygen.
So that when using vegetable oil, an unpleasant odor does not appear;
- you need to choose exclusively refined and deodorized oils;
- there is no need to break the ratio of liquid soap and oil;
- it is necessary to thoroughly knead the clay so that the oil does not remain on the surface.
Plaster putty can be replaced with polymer. But in this case, the clay must be immediately kneaded as dense as you need. Take flour and putty in equal proportions.
With a polymer putty, you do not need to wait 1-3 days until the clay is fully ripe in the refrigerator. Enough 12 hours. In this option, the quality of PVA glue is more important than in the case of a gypsum mixture. To make the clay strong, you need PVA with a plasticizer, most carpentry will do.

If the first time something didn't work out for you, do not rush to throw away the clay. In the overwhelming majority of cases, it can be "reanimated". Write in the comments in detail what did not work, be sure to provide the full name and manufacturer of the glue and putty. I will try to help.
