Part 1 - Wireshark for Beginners

You can take a pcap on the switches and routers as well depending on that device, if that device supports it or not. A concept like mirroring in Aruba/procurve switches is available which helps you capture packets and similarly in Cisco switches we have something known as SPAN - Switched Port Analyzer aka Port mirroring.
