Vitamin E is a powerful anti oxidant and it is very important to boost immunity to fight infections and to promote skin health. It fights cell damage and is very crucial to avoid ageing. Vitamin E also helps in blood thinning which means it can reduce blood pressure. It is also called as tocopherol and it is a fat soluble vitamin i.e. it needs a fat medium for its better utilization. Henceforth we need to intake vitamin E along with a good amount of healthy fat such as nuts, seeds, filtered oils etc. Nuts such as almonds, peanuts and walnuts have vitamin E in them and seeds such as sunflower seeds, flax seeds also have vitamin E and hence they can be included. Egg yolk, fish, milk do contain some amount of vitamin E and be included regularly. The protective covering of whole grain contain vitamin E in them and hence we should include more of unpolished grains such as red rice, oats and wheat bran or unpolished millets etc. Fruits such as avocado or butter fruit as we call it also contain vitamin E in them. When it comes to oils it is always better to opt for cold pressed filtered oils because they retain more vitamin E in them than any refined vegetable oils.
