How to Identify a Plugged Filter Drier

In this video I replace two liquid line and a suction line filter drier on a huge bulk tank at a dairy. I still cannot believe how plugged these filters were. Plugged liquid line components can cause systems to have normal to high subcooling and low superheat. That is exactly what this system was experiencing. This was causing much longer run time on equipment and consequently the milk was not cooling down as desired. After replacing the restricted filter driers and installing a new thermal expansion valve the system was operating beautifully.
