Even before we watched The
Even before we watched The Martian movie, Thmanyah always wondered about the possibility to travel to Mars, build settlements and live there as if we were on Earth. When we had the opportunity to meet Mishaal Ashemimry, we managed to ask her our questions. Ashemimry is a Saudi girl working in the field of designing nuclear rockets and spacecraft, and one of her research papers was adopted by the US agency NASA.
It is true that the environment of Mars is hostile to human life. There is no air on its surface, the atmosphere is thin and colder than the Earth's Antarctic.There is also a large amount of radiation flowing from space into Mars. Furthermore, the soil is toxic, and if we want to use it for cultivation, it will need to go through decontamination operations. All of these issues will come to an end, in front of the technologies we have built.
As for the settlements, Gerard Noel says: "If you love this land, you have to find a way to transfer people and industries from Earth to space." Who knows, perhaps Elon Musk's plans are closer to us than ever. His project of sending people to Mars, colonise and revitalize it, looks much like a scene from a science fiction movie.
He says: “We must make the Red Planet a suitable place, for anyone to go to. According to the plan, the first steps of building and colonizing Mars will start in 2022 or 2023.”
This launch program will be every two years, starting from 2018, specifically when Mars approaches Earth, because the distance between them will only be about 57.6 million km. Would you like to be on this flight? Thmanyah team does. 😁👽
