Artificial pancreas are nothing but a system made up of 3 components that acts like our pancreas. It is a device that is not actually implanted or neither is the real pancreas removed but rather a complete system of monitoring blood glucose levels and lowering it.

The first of this system is the CGM (continuous glucose monitoring system) which is a small device with a sensor leads places into the capillaries and a monitor that collects the information received from it.  The leads are placed using a small needle attached to the leads. The device regularly monitors the blood sugar levels and helps the patient in understanding its functioning.
